Ramky's Fake Garbage Reports Under Lens
Directions were given to Ramky to map every garbage hotspot using GPS coordinates and assign a unique identification number to each location.
Hyderabad:Ramky’s online garbage clearance reports have come under scrutiny after an inspection by Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy revealed discrepancies between the work claimed by the agency and the actual ground situation. At Adarshnagar in Uppal, a single garbage heap appeared to have been cleared, but online records showed clearance at 14 locations.
The discrepancy surfaced during a review meeting on daily sanitation operations. As Ramky representatives presented their reports, the commissioner noticed that photographs uploaded against multiple garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) appeared identical, raising doubts about whether the reported work had been carried out.
Accompanied by officials and Ramky representatives, the commissioner visited Adarshnagar to verify the record. The inspection exposed mismatches between photographs and clearance claims, prompting him to express dissatisfaction and direct the agency to correct the entries.
Ramky’s daily reports indicated that around 900 garbage heaps across MMC limits were being cleared regularly. However, the inspection raised questions over the accuracy of these figures, with discrepancies also found in the number of vehicles shown as deployed.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the commissioner said the agency had been instructed to consolidate scattered heaps, remove waste completely and correct dashboard entries. Daily inspections will now ensure that online reports match ground conditions.
Directions were given to Ramky to map every garbage hotspot using GPS coordinates and assign a unique identification number to each location. Although several GVPs had been mapped, recurring accumulation points had not been separately identified, making monitoring difficult.
The commissioner instructed the agency to clear all identified GVPs every day, deploy sufficient vehicles to avoid delays and apply bleaching powder after removal. Every clearance entry must be backed by field‑level evidence.
The MMC has ordered strict morning inspections, with Ramky representatives and municipal sanitation staff required to be present during verification. The focus will be on checking whether garbage shown as cleared in online reports has actually been removed.
