Ramchander Rao Predicts Exodus to BJP Ahead of Local Polls
Citing internal power struggles and family feuds within both parties, the BJP chief said several disgruntled MLAs are preparing to switch sides.
Hyderabad: BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao on Thursday predicted a major political realignment in Telangana, and that there would be a wave of defections from the BRS and Congress ahead of the upcoming gram panchayat and municipal elections.
Citing internal power struggles and family feuds within both parties, the BJP chief said several disgruntled MLAs are preparing to switch sides.
Speaking exclusively to Deccan Chronicle, Rao revealed that former BRS MLA from Achampet, Guvvala Balaraju, is set to join the BJP tomorrow. “Several former MLAs and MLCs from BRS are in advanced talks with our leadership and are likely to join soon,” he said.
BJP sources said the influx of influential leaders could reshape the political landscape in Telangana, further intensifying the race for power. The party is preparing to welcome high-profile entrants.
