Rainfall Covers Telangana, Khammam Gets Most

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across Telangana over the next four days.

Hyderabad: Several parts of Telangana received moderate rainfall on Sunday, with Khammam district recording the highest rainfall in the state until 8 pm, according to official weather data.

According to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), Bonakal in Khammam district topped the list with 79.3 mm of rainfall. It was followed by Station Ghanpur in Jangaon district with 74.8 mm and Eturnagaram in Mulugu district with 73 mm.

Several places in Nizamabad district also received heavy showers, including Yedapalle (72.3 mm), Sirikonda (70.5 mm), Mosra (70 mm), Thumpally (69.3 mm) and Dharpally (68.5 mm). Zaffergadh in Jangaon district recorded 70.3 mm, while Mallial in Jagtial district received 69.3 mm.

In Hyderabad, rainfall was comparatively light and was mostly limited to the north-eastern parts of the city. TGDPS data stated that Shaikpet recorded the highest rainfall in the city with 14.3 mm, followed by Golconda with 11.5 mm. Srinagar Colony 7.8 mm, RC Puram 7.5 mm, and BHEL 6.8 mm of rainfall.

IMD forecasted that Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts will receive heavy rainfall in isolated locations on Monday, while thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 km/h are very likely to occur across all districts of Telangana.
