R-Day: Welfare Sops for All Soon
Nizamabad: District collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu announced that all eligible people will soon receive the state’s welfare schemes. Commemorating the 76th Republic Day, Hanumanthu highlighted the contributions of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the father of the Constitution.
During the Republic Day celebrations at the Police Parade Ground, Hanumanthu hoisted the National Flag and lauded Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his transparent governance and effective distribution of welfare benefits. He outlined six guarantees by the state government to ensure equal opportunities for every citizen.
In the district alone, approximately 12.81 lakh people have benefitted from 4,01,959 food security cards. Nizamabad district leads the state by crediting Rs 1,140.27 crore to farmers for paddy procurement, with 44,703 farmers receiving a total bonus of Rs 151.56 crore.
Additional programmes reported significant participation:
• Mahalaxmi scheme: 94,000 women utilise free bus services, with Rs 3.61 crore worth of free travel benefits provided.
• Energy assistance: 3,023 Nayi Brahmin and Rajakas households receive 250 units of free electricity monthly.
