Protesting Villagers Plant Paddy Over Potholed Road in Seethakka’s Constituency
They underlined that ambulances find it difficult to reach the village during emergencies because of the road's poor condition.
WARANGAL: Residents of Kothamallur in Mangapet mandal of Mulugu assembly constituency, represented by panchayat raj minister Danasari Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka, staged a unique protest on Friday against the deplorable condition of the village's main road.
The road is riddled with potholes and filled with slush following the recent rains. Villagers symbolically planted paddy saplings on the damaged stretches, drawing widespread attention towards their frustration over the neglect of authorities despite repeated pleas.
Villagers said the road has become virtually impassable, making it difficult even to walk. They pointed out that schoolchildren are forced to walk through the mud every day. Passing through is difficult for the elderly, pregnant women, and those ill.
They underlined that ambulances find it difficult to reach the village during emergencies because of the road's poor condition.
According to villagers, they have repeatedly brought the issue to the notice of authorities concerned. But no action has been taken, prompting them to resort to this symbolic protest. They urged the government to immediately repair the road and provide safe access to the village.
The protest has gone viral on social media, drawing public attention. Everyone is waiting for minister Seethakka's response.
