Produce Detained Maoist Leader Bade Chokka Rao, 15 Others Before Court, Urges Letter

Sources said that Telangana police have not detained Bade Chokka Rao, the Maoist leader and it was purely a speculation

Hyderabad: Following the reported detention of Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar, the state secretary of the proscribed out CPI(Maoist) cum central committee member, and 15 other Naxalites in Mulugu district, a letter was released on Wednesday asking police to produce the detained Maoist leaders before the court of law.

It is speculated that Telangana police during the regular combing operation had detained Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar, who is also the central committee member of the CPI(Maoist). However, the banned outfit did not mention the name of Bade Chokka Rao in the letter.

In the letter, Jagan, the official spokesperson of the banned outfit said that police have detained at least 16 Maoist leaders at Babjipet and Kakarbuddi villages in Asifabad district and shifted them to undisclosed destinations. The Maoist leaders were detained illegally and poets, people’s welfare associations should come forward to condemn the incident, Jagan, said.

“The NDA-led BJP government has been implementing RSS ideology and encouraging capitalists to loot the natural resources by assigning contracts to them. When we were fighting against the government’s move to ruin the natural resources, the Union government started Operation Kagar to eliminate Maoist and its activities,” he said, adding, police and government should take measures to produce the detained Maoist leaders before the court immediately.

On the other, sources said that Telangana police have not detained Bade Chokka Rao, the Maoist leader and it was purely a speculation.
