President Droupadi Murmu to Begin Winter Sojourn in Hyderabad From Dec 17
The President of India visits the Rashtrapati Nilayam at least once a year and conducts official business
Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu will arrive here on December 17 for her annual southern sojourn till December 21 at the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolaram. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao reviewed the arrangements for the President's visit with senior officials at the Secretariat on Thursday and instructed departments to ensure flawless coordination among central agencies, state wings and the Rashtrapati Nilayam administration.
The CS directed officials to keep a snake-catching team on standby round the clock and form special units to tackle monkey menace and remove bee hives in and around the Rashtrapati Nilayam premises. He said that all arrangements must cover security, protocol, logistics, sanitation and emergency response mechanisms.
The police have been assigned the task of preparing a detailed security and traffic management plan, while the fire department will position personnel along with adequate firefighting systems. The medical and health department will deploy a dedicated medical team to handle any emergencies. The roads and buildings (R&B) wing has been instructed to arrange barricading, take up road repairs in coordination with GHMC and the police, and ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout the President’s stay.
Senior officials who attended the review meeting included DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy, R&B special chief secretary Vikas Raj, home special chief secretary C.V. Anand, Hyderabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, energy principal secretary Naveen Mittal, GHMC commissioner R.V. Karnan, fire services DG Vikram Singh Mann, I&PR special commissioner Ch. Priyanka, protocol director Sivalingaiah and senior officers.
