Hyderabad: Former IPS officer and BRS leader R.S. Praveen Kumar, who appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the probe into the phone-tapping case, reportedly informed officials that his phone was not intercepted by the previous BRS government.

Praveen Kumar, who was the first to react to the phone-tapping controversy by lodging a complaint with the Election Commission, reiterated on Monday that his phone had not been tapped during the BRS regime. Instead, he levelled allegations against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing him of using advanced software to intercept mobile phones.

After appearing before the SIT, Praveen Kumar told media persons that he had filed a complaint with the SIT against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for allegedly intercepting the phones of political leaders using the latest surveillance technologies. The BRS leader said he had also submitted video footage as evidence along with a written complaint.

Praveen Kumar urged the SIT to investigate incidents of phone-tapping allegedly taking place under the current Congress government. The former IPS officer also called on the SIT to expand the scope of its probe to explore multiple angles and prevent such surveillance activities by the Congress regime.
