Ponnam Prabhakar

Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar will lay the foundation stone for a city bus terminal at the zonal workshop premises on Saturday. The Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) has estimated the project cost at ₹3.22 crore. The proposed terminal in Boduppal is aimed at easing traffic congestion at Uppal crossoads, where city service and district service buses halt simultaneously, leading to bottlenecks and affecting commuter movement.

According to the project report, the facility will include dedicated bus bays, heavy-duty concrete driveways, passenger shelters and public toilet blocks. A compound wall will also be constructed to protect the premises. The project is being funded by the MMC.
The corporation took up the proposal following joint inspections and coordination with Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) and traffic police officials. The dedicated terminal is expected to help streamline bus operations and improve commuter movement at the busy junction.
