Khammam: Minister of housing, revenue, information and public relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy termed former Chief Minister, BRS president Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao as ‘Ravansura’ and his 10-year rule utterly ignored the welfare of people, especially the poor. The BRS government always focussed on ‘commissions’ in government works and had never tried to resolve the public problems, he criticised.

Srinivas Reddy came down heavily on the BRS party for its looting attitude like bandicoot rats and inefficiency. He took part in various programmes in Yellandu, Kusumanchi, Sattupally and Aswaraopet on Thursday. Minister for women and child welfare Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka, MLAs Matta Ragamayi Dayanand, J.Adi Narayana, Koram Kanakaiah, Tellam Venkatrao, ITDA project officer Rahul, SP Rohith Raju, and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that setting aside politics, the Congress government will give Indiramma houses all eligible beneficiaries in a phased manner. The BRS government indicated merely 90,000 2BHK houses and completed only 30,000, he said. BRS party activists only selected 2BHK houses, he alleged. Congress government will construct Indiramma houses in a phased manner, he assured.

There is no need to worry about Indiramma houses, it’s a continuous programme and definitely give priority for eligible applicants, the minister assured. ‘We are providing fine quality rice to the poor people considering their daily needs’, he said. For the last 10 years, new ration cards have been utterly ignored by the BRS government, but Congress will give 4.65 lakh new ration cards, add new family members in 11 lakh cards, he explained.

Free power to the agriculture sector, 200 units of free power for poor families provided by the Congress government, he said. Even an LPG cylinder for Rs 500 is provided in Telangana state, not in BJP-ruled states, he said. Rs 10 lakh medical facility under Rajiv Arogyasri shows the Congress interest for the welfare of people, he said. Self-help group women are utterly neglected by the BRS government and now they are getting 25 paise interest loans, he said.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy urged people to continue their faith in the Congress party in coming local body elections for a people-friendly government.
