Hyderabad: Information and public relations minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, has directed officials to effectively communicate the government’s welfare schemes and development programmes to the public by using all media platforms.

In a video conference with I&PR officials from all districts held at Secretariat on Tuesday, the minister expressed concern that despite Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led government's numerous welfare schemes and development projects over 18 months, many positive achievements have not been effectively conveyed to the public.

He said the opposition BRS, during its 10 years in power, failed to implement several schemes but is now misleading people with false narratives. Special commissioner of I&PR Ch. Priyanka and chief public relations officer to Chief Minister G. Malsur were present in the meeting.

The minister criticised the BRS government for neglecting ration cards and housing for the poor, pointing out that 15 lakh names were added to existing cards and seven lakh new ration cards were issued.

He also noted the introduction of the Bhu Bharati Act to resolve land issues. Despite financial constraints, he said the government has not compromised on welfare. Ponguleti asked I&PR officials to take these achievements to the grassroots level and shoulder the responsibility of spreading awareness with commitment and efficiency.
