Ponguleti: Cong. Turned Telangana Into Welfare State
Reforms in agriculture, education, healthcare, housing, supply of fine rice through ration cards, and employment generation were helping position Telangana as a role model for the country: Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy
HYDERABAD: Minister for information and public relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday said the Congress government had transformed crisis-hit Telangana into a welfare-oriented state within just two years of coming to power. He said the government had demonstrated the change that people aspired for and upheld their trust.
Addressing I&PR officials and staff after inaugurating the modernised I&PR department website at the Secretariat, the minister said Telangana was facing a severe crisis across sectors, particularly on the economic front, when the Congress assumed office in December 2023.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, we are overcoming these challenges step by step and accelerating development and welfare,” he said, adding that every decision taken by the people’s government was bringing visible change in citizens’ lives.
The minister said reforms in agriculture, education, healthcare, housing, supply of fine rice through ration cards, and employment generation were helping position Telangana as a role model for the country. Highlighting the importance of communication, he said the I&PR department played a crucial role in effectively conveying government initiatives to the public. He directed officials to make extensive use of technology to ensure faster and more efficient dissemination of development and welfare programmes.
I&PR commissioner Ch. Priyanka and Chief Minister’s CPRO G. Malsur were present.
