Polycet Counselling Delay Hits 22K Students
No official update from authorities despite the original schedule that indicated a July 4 start: Reports
HYDERABAD: The prolonged delay in conducting counselling for Telangana Polycet 2025 has left over 22,000 students and their families in a state of uncertainty, with no official update from authorities despite the original schedule that indicated a July 4 start.
Students who cleared the entrance test have been waiting for the seat allotment process to begin. However, there has been no communication from the Telangana State Board of Technical Education or the Department of Technical Education about revised dates, eligibility processing, or registration timelines.
Rumours of data erasure and technical issues have added to the confusion, with students reporting conflicting information from unofficial sources. Some officials are reportedly attributing the delay to unresolved issues such as fee fixation and backend portal problems, but no public statement has been issued.
“The counselling was supposed to begin on July 4. But till now, there’s no clarity. We don’t know when to expect web options or document verification,” said a student from the city who appeared for the exam this year.
Many students say they are unable to plan their academic year or consider backup options without clear information. Some parents expressed concern about losing out on other admission opportunities if the delay continues into late July. They say the recurring lack of coordination and transparency in entrance-based admissions is becoming a pattern. “Every year, students are left guessing. These are young candidates just starting out in higher education, the least the state can do is offer timely updates,” V. Krishnaveni, a parent, told Deccan Chronicle.
There is now growing pressure on the government to issue an immediate clarification, announce a counselling schedule, and ensure that technical glitches, if any, are resolved without further affecting students.
