Political Parties Help Flood Victims

 Adilabad: Political party leaders and cadres have been extending help to flood victims in villages and towns, providing meals to families who lost everything in the floods. Leaders from the Congress, BRS, and BJP on Sunday visited flood-affected villages in Adilabad Rural mandal and inspected the damage to public assets and standing crops.

Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar visited Ankoli, Tantoli, Chinchughat, Lokari, and Vanwat villages in Adilabad Rural mandal. He inspected the damaged culverts at Chinchughat and assessed the loss of standing cotton crops. He said many farmers had lost their cotton crop and suffered huge financial losses, as they had invested ₹40,000-₹50,000 per acre and were expecting to harvest next month.

Congress and BRS leaders also visited several flood-affected villages in the Boath Assembly constituency to inspect crop damage. Kisan Congress state general secretary Srikanth Reddy visited Sunkidi village in Talamadugu, where floodwater inundated large tracts of farmland. He assured farmers that he would bring the issue to the notice of in-charge minister Jupally Krishna Rao and press for compensation from the state government.
