Anand directed chiefs of the police commissionerates of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City to complete the reorganisation of police station jurisdiction in accordance with the government orders (GOs) issued in December last, taking into consideration the boundaries of municipal bodies, revenue divisions and courts.
The execution of some aspects of the GO had remained incomplete leading to confusion in the various commissionerates. The meeting was attended by police commissioners V.C. Sajjanar (Hyderabad), Tarun Joshi (Future City), Dr M. Ramesh (Cyberabad) and B. Sumathi (Malkajgiri) along with joint commissioners and senior officers.
Emphasising the need for long-term planning, Anand stated that urban expansion, population growth and administrative requirements should be taken into account while restructuring police station jurisdictions. He also instructed officials to consider the views of all stakeholders during the process.
The DGP, issuing specific directions regarding the determination of police station limits in certain areas of Hyderabad, stressed that the new boundaries should be finalised in a manner that would avoid inconvenience to the public, government departments and the judiciary. He finalised the disputes and field issues after discussion and got them incorporated in the proposals .
Anand reiterated that the reorganisation of police stations should strengthen people-centric and efficient policing and improve the delivery of police services to the public.
