PM-VBRY to Benefit 57,544 First-Time Employees, 3,674 Employers in Telangana
Officials said the scheme is designed to encourage young people entering the formal workforce for the first time while also rewarding employers who expand employment opportunities.
Hyderabad: A total of 57,544 first-time employees and 3,674 employers in Telangana are set to receive benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) with incentives worth nearly Rs.136 crore to be disbursed across the state through a series of regional events.
According to a release, beneficiaries under Part A of the scheme include first-time employees entering the formal workforce. In Telangana, 57,544 employees will receive incentives amounting to about Rs.30.72 crore. Under Part B, which supports employers creating additional jobs, 3,674 employers are expected to receive incentives totalling approximately Rs.105.61 crore.
The nationwide launch of the employment-linked incentive programme will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi. The scheme aims to encourage formal employment, increase social security coverage and support industries generating new jobs.
Officials said the scheme is designed to encourage young people entering the formal workforce for the first time while also rewarding employers who expand employment opportunities. The incentives will be transferred directly to beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
The programme will be held simultaneously at multiple venues across Telangana, including RTC Kalabhavan in Hyderabad, Tourism Plaza at Begumpet, IIT Hyderabad in Kandi, APL Research Centre in Sangareddy, ESIC Medical College in Erragadda, Tech Mahindra Learning Campus in Madhapur, Satavahana University in Karimnagar, Hotel Nikhil Sai International in Nizamabad, and Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation facilities in Hanamkonda.
Union ministers, state ministers and senior officials are likely to participate.
