Macherla: YSRCP leader and former Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, along with his brother Venkatarami Reddy, surrendered before the Junior Additional Civil Judge Court in Macherla on Thursday morning. Police deployed heavy security around the court premises to prevent any untoward incidents.

The case relates to the murder of TDP leaders and brothers Javvishetty Venkateswarlu and Koteswara Rao of Gundlapadu village in Veldurthi mandal, who were killed on May 24. Police listed the Pinnelli brothers as Accused 6 and Accused 7, alleging that they indirectly supported the double murder as part of a village dominance dispute.
Their anticipatory bail petitions were earlier dismissed by the lower court and the High Court. The Supreme Court also rejected their plea last week and directed them to surrender within two weeks. Following the directive, the Pinnelli brothers appeared before the court today.
