Phone Tapping Case: SC Extends Police Custody of Prabhakar Rao Till Dec 25
SIT constituted by Telangana government to fast-track probe; accused to be released on December 26

Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Wednesday extended the police custody of Prabhakar Rao in the alleged phone tapping case till December 25, directing that he be released on December 26. His earlier police custody had ended on December 18, following which the Special Investigation Team (SIT) approached the apex court seeking an extension for further questioning in connection with the case.
To expedite the investigation, the Telangana government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT will function under the supervision of Hyderabad Police Commissioner and senior IPS officer V.C. Sajjanar.
