Peace Committee Members Meet CM Revanth to Cease Fire on Maoists

Hyderabad: Peace Talks Committee leaders on Sunday met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his residence and submitted a representation asking the government to appeal to the Centre to call a ceasefire at Karregutta on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border, where a massive operation is underway, and hold discussions with the Maoists.

Revanth Reddy, according to a statement, said that the government considered Naxalism not as a law and order issue and but viewed it from a social perspective. He recalled that Congress senior leader Jana Reddy had held talks with the Maoists when he was home minister, and the government would take suggestions from him to look into the issue.
