Hyderabad: Serving in Nagarkurnool, the home district of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, district Collector Hemanth Keshav Patil has emerged as a model of proactive, people-centric governance.

In just 90 days since assuming charge, the 2019-batch IAS officer has transformed the district administration through tireless fieldwork, strict accountability, and an unwavering commitment to public service. His remarkable approach has earned widespread appreciation from the people and has become a subject of public discussion.

Rather than confining administration to review meetings and office files, the Collector has made it a practice to visit a village, tribal habitation, government hospital, Anganwadi centre, school, or government office every single day—often without prior notice.

These surprise inspections have enabled him to understand ground realities firsthand, interact directly with citizens, identify shortcomings, and ensure immediate solutions to public grievances.

One of the defining features of his administration has been restoring accountability within the government machinery. Officials and employees found neglecting their duties have faced prompt disciplinary action, including suspensions and show-cause notices.

At the same time, sincere and committed officers have been encouraged and motivated, creating an administration where efficiency, discipline, and public service have become the guiding principles.

Known for his relentless work ethic, Hemanth Keshav Patil begins his day as early as 7 am and continues working until 10 pm. He remains accessible to the public throughout the day, personally receives petitions, closely monitors the implementation of welfare and development programmes, and follows up on every issue until it is resolved.

His hands-on leadership has significantly improved grievance redressal and strengthened public confidence in the district administration. The visible transformation in Nagarkurnool is not merely the result of strict supervision but of a leadership style rooted in compassion, transparency, responsiveness, and responsibility.

His consistent presence in the field has inspired confidence among citizens while motivating officials to perform with greater dedication and integrity. In just three months, Hemanth Keshav Patil has demonstrated that effective governance is achieved not from behind a desk but by being among the people.

By taking administration to the grassroots, insisting on accountability, and placing public welfare above all else, he has set a new benchmark in district administration. His work stands as an inspiring example of how committed, honest, and people-focused leadership can transform governance and improve the lives of citizens.
