Pak National Held For Cheating, Harassment In Hyderabad

Hyderabad:The Langer Houz police on Friday caught a Pakistani national, Fahad, red-handed with another woman at an apartment where his separated wife was living alone. He now faces charges of cheating and other offences.

According to police, the complainant, Keerthy alias Doha Fatima, alleged that she met Fahad while working in a private firm in the city. The two fell in love and married. Over time, Fahad began avoiding her and allegedly entered into a relationship with another woman, identified as Jabeena.

After a few years, Fahad started avoiding her as he developed a relationship with another woman named Jabeena. Fahad brought his girlfriend and started staying in another flat in the same apartment where Keerthy lives. "On Friday, the complainant approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, we conducted raids on an apartment and caught Fahad, who was staying with another woman, Jebeena," said Langerhouz inspector B Venkat Ramulu.

Investigations revealed that Fahad still holds Pakistani citizenship, though he has applied for Indian nationality. Police said his mother is Indian and his father, a Pakistani, married in Saudi Arabia in 1990. The family moved to Hyderabad in 1998 after his father’s death. Fahad has two brothers and one sister; both he and his younger brother continue to hold Pakistani citizenship.

“We have obtained photocopies of documents confirming his Pakistani nationality. A case of cheating and other charges has been registered. The matter is under investigation and further action will follow,” inspector Venkat Ramulu said.

Keerthy also alleged that Fahad had taken Rs 20 lakh from her, money she raised through a personal loan. After taking money from her, he has started harassing her mentally and physically. She further accused him of maintaining an “illegal relationship” with Jabeena.
