Hyderabad: The Telugu film fraternity has expressed outrage over reports that a North Indian restaurant in Ohio, USA, allegedly screened a pirated version of ‘Raja Saab’, the latest release starring actor Prabhas.

The incident reportedly occurred barely 48 hours after the film’s theatrical release on Friday. Social media posts claimed that an Instagram page catering to the NRI community shared a video showing the horror‑comedy being played on a television screen for diners at a restaurant in Dublin, Ohio. Though the original post was later deleted, clips from the screening have gone viral, triggering sharp backlash from fans and industry insiders.
The episode comes as Telangana cybercrime authorities intensify their crackdown on digital piracy. Following the recent arrest of Ravi Immadi, alleged founder of the piracy website iBomma, officials are reportedly tracking operators of other portals such as 5movierulz and 1tamilmv, believed to be operating from Sri Lanka.

DTF busts opium racket in city, seizes 2.2 kg

The Secunderabad Drugs Task Force (DTF) on Monday busted an opium trafficking racket involving the illegal transport of the narcotic from Rajasthan to the city. DTF personnel seized 2.22 kg of opium, valued at about ₹6.50 lakh, and arrested two persons, assistant excise superintendent Srinivas Rao said.
The racket came to light when one Sunil was caught red‑handed selling opium in Begumpet, with 20 grams seized from his possession. Based on his information, a team led by DTF circle inspector Saujanya intercepted Ashok Kumar at Narayanguda, while he was transporting contraband on a two‑wheeler.
Police seized 2.020 kg of opium, the motorcycle. The seized opium were handed over to Narayanguda excise police station for further investigation. Deputy commissioner Anil Kumar Reddy appreciated the DTF Secunderabad team and felicitated the staff.
