Osmania University To Host Global Tourism Conference

Hyderabad, July 5: Osmania University is to host an international conference, ‘Global Tourism: New Avenues for Sustainable Development’ from October 16 to 18. Organised by the department of commerce, the conference will focus on tourism policy, promotion, employment generation, medical and smart tourism, and the recently announced Telangana Tourism Policy.
The conference poster was released on Saturday at the administration building by OU Vice Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram. Officials said the conference aims to bring together researchers, policymakers and industry stakeholders to explore opportunities and challenges in the tourism sector, with a focus on sustainability and entrepreneurship. Details regarding paper submissions, registration, and speakers will be announced soon.
Separately, the university will host the Chief Justice of India, Justice Bhushan Ramakrishna Gavai, on July 12. He is to deliver a lecture on “Constitution of India: The Contribution of Baba Saheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar” at the Tagore Auditorium.
Registrar Prof G Naresh Reddy, conference director Sr Prof. D. Chennappa, dean of commerce Prof. K. Krishna Chaithanya, VC’s OSD Prof. S. Jithendra Kumar Naik, chief warden Dr G. Srinivas Rao and Addl Controller of Exams Dr K Srinivas were present at the poster release event.
