Osmania General Hospital— DC File

HYDERABAD: The Osmania General Hospital of T-JUDA has temporarily called off its strike after the health minister and senior officials assured it that deficiencies affecting patient care and medical education would be addressed within 10 days. The association said it would monitor the implementation of the assurances and expect measurable improvements within the stipulated period.

The strike was organised to highlight deficiencies in hospital infrastructure, essential medical supplies, diagnostic facilities and equipment, along with problems affecting the academic environment for undergraduate medical students and postgraduate residents.

Osmania T-JUDA said the issues had a direct bearing on patient care and the quality of medical education. Following discussions with the authorities, the association decided to give the government 10 days to demonstrate improvements on the ground. The association clarified that the decision was only a temporary suspension of the strike and not a withdrawal of its demands. It said it would remain vigilant and assess the progress made during the period.
