One World Fusion Raises Funds for Autism
Legends perform for Independence Day concert, raising funds for autism awareness
Hyderabad: One World Fusion 2025 filled Ravindra Bharathi this month as musicians from across India came together for an Independence Day special concert that doubled as a fundraiser for autism awareness.
Grammy award-winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt opened with pieces from his celebrated repertoire, including Raag Kirwani and Meeting by the River. Raj Sodha, popularly known as Bollywood’s saxophone king, followed with evergreen numbers like Vada Karo Nahi Chodoge Tum Mera Saath and Pehla Nasha. The evening also featured Roop Kumar Rathod, who sang Sandeshe Aate Hai and Tere Liye from Veer Zaara, while Sunali Rathod presented a blend of ghazals and film songs.
Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee and his Rhythm Express Band added layers of percussion with renditions including Hame Tumse Pyar Kitna before all the artists returned for a stirring finale with Vande Mataram. “Music lovers came from far and wide, braving the rain and traffic jams, making the event a grand success,” said Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee, chairman of the Sangitanjaly Foundation.
Supported by the Telangana department of language and culture, the concert’s proceeds will help sustain the Autism Ashram. Bhattacharjee said the foundation aims not only to raise funds but also to preserve India’s classical and popular traditions for wider audiences.
