NVS Principals From 4 States, 2 UTs Will Attend Conference In IIT Hyderabad

The conference’s agenda includes reviewing academic performance of each vidyalaya and progress in co-curricular activities

Hyderabad: The yearly principals’ conference of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) will be conducted from May 21 to 23 at the IIT Hyderabad campus here.

As many as 77 principals from across the Hyderabad region comprising Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep will participate in the three-day conference.

The primary agenda of the conference includes reviewing the academic performance of each vidyalaya and progress in co-curricular activities (CCA), other developmental activities and works. Evaluating the implementation of NEP 2020 and activities under the PM SHRI schools initiative will be reviewed, analysed and future projections also will be reviewed.

Strengthening STEM education and enhancing support for JEE/NEET coaching through the Vigyan Jyothi programme and from other sources will also be discussed in addition to planning for upcoming cluster-level and regional sports meets, science exhibitions, and cultural events also will be discussed, besides addressing challenges of low academic performance and strategizing improvement plans.

Discussing infrastructure development, including construction, repairs, and maintenance issues, need based infrastructure requirements will also be taken up. As part of the conference, outstanding performers and top achievers from the region will also be felicitated for their exemplary contributions and results.

The inaugural session, which will commence at 9.30 am on May 21, will be graced by the Commissioner of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samti, Rajesh Lakhani, as the chief guest. Gyanendra Kumar, Joint Commissioner (Academics) NVS, will attend as guest of honour.

T. Gopalakrishna, Deputy Commissioner, NVS Hyderabad region, along with Assistant Commissioners of the region, also mark their presence. Addressing media persons, Gopalakrishna said that the conference aims to reaffirm the region’s commitment to academic excellence, holistic student development, and collaborative growth among Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
