NALGONDA: Female nursing staff staged a protest on the premises of the Government General Hospital in Nalgonda on Tuesday, alleging a lack of basic facilities and demanding withdrawal of memos issued to 14 nurses.

The nurses alleged that the hospital lacked drinking water, a room for changing uniforms, proper washrooms and adequate security facilities for them. They also alleged that Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Naresh had issued memos to 14 nurses holding them responsible for matters unrelated to their duties.

The nurses further alleged that the Deputy Superintendent used objectionable language while addressing them and targeted those who questioned his behaviour. They demanded action against him.
