Hyderabad: Police will take strict action against cab and auto drivers who refuse rides or demand fares higher than the booked amount on New Year’s Eve, City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, said on Wednesday.
In a post on social media platform X, Sajjanar made it clear that any such violations, especially around midnight during New Year celebrations, would not be tolerated. He warned that offenders would be booked under Section 178(3)(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
He also urged commuters to report any inconvenience faced due to ride refusals or overcharging.
