Hyderabad: Dismissing allegations of corruption and irregularities in Gurukul school admissions, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) secretary Dr V. S. Alagu Varsini said all seats were allotted strictly on merit through standardised procedures. She clarified that there was no scope for manipulation or influence by middlemen, and merit lists had determined the admissions process in its entirety.

Dr Varsini announced that spot admissions for intermediate courses will be held on July 31, while the list of available seats in various colleges will be accessible from July 30.

She also revealed the rollout of a centralised food procurement system for hostels under the SC, ST, BC, Minority and General Welfare Societies. The system, she said, aims to ensure better meals, transparency in tendering, standardised monitoring and a uniform diet plan to improve both nutrition and hygiene.

“From the dining hall to the classroom, we are building an ecosystem that fosters dignity, discipline and academic excellence. We are not just running hostels; we are nurturing future leaders from the most underserved regions,” she said.
