Nizamabad, Kamareddy Ring In New Year 2026 With Festive Cheer
Crowds, food, and family reunions mark the farewell to 2025 and welcome 2026
Nizamabad: The farewell to 2025 and the welcome to the New Year 2026 were marked with lively celebrations across Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts on Wednesday. People made special arrangements in residential colonies and commercial centres to usher in the New Year, with large crowds, particularly youth, taking part in the festivities.
To meet the increased demand, business establishments set up additional counters for New Year celebrations. Hotels, restaurants, sweet shops and other commercial outlets witnessed heavy footfall. In Nizamabad town, areas such as Gandhi Chowk, Railway Station Road, Phulong, Vinayaknagar, Varni Road, Bodhan Road, Gandhi Gunj, Subhashnagar and Kanteshwar saw large gatherings of people.
Many job-oriented youths working in cities such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and New Delhi returned to their native places in Nizamabad town and surrounding villages to celebrate the occasion with their families.
Temples and churches in the town also witnessed a steady flow of devotees on the occasion. Meanwhile, prices of food items and sweets rose due to high demand. Chicken prices touched Rs 320 per kg, while eggs were sold at Rs 96 per dozen.
