Nizamabad: Farmers Protest Against Power Cuts

NIZAMABAD: Farmers staged a protest at an electricity substation in Mentrajpally village of Dichpally mandal on Saturday, demanding uninterrupted power supply.

Farmers from Mentrajpally, Weslynagar Thanda and Naka Thanda staged the protest over frequent power cuts. They said the interrupted power supply was affecting crops in the agricultural fields.

Police rushed to the spot and persuaded the farmers to withdraw the protest. Officials of the Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited and the police assured them of uninterrupted power supply.

The farmers urged the officials to ensure quality power supply to protect the standing crops.
