Hyderabad: The nurses of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) staged a protest on Monday demanding that the management resolve their long-pending demands.

For the last one week, the nurses were protesting in support of their demands including filling vacant posts of nursing officers, resumption of medical services at NIMS for parents of contract nursing officers, earned leave encashment, providing appropriate status to NIMS nursing college lecturers, cadre review, and giving them salaries as per AIIMS norms etc.

On Monday, they staged a protest for an hour before joining their duty. They also organized a rally on the hospital premises requesting the management to resolve their demands at the earliest. Holding placards and banners with slogans – One Hospital One Rule, Don’t Exploit Our Rights, they took part in the protest.

To foil the attempts of nurses, the NIMS officials closed a few areas by locking the gates triggering anger from the protestors.
