Ramchander Rao also met general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santosh, deputy general secretary (Organisation) Shiv Prakash, and Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He was accompanied by Union minister G. Kishan Reddy during his discussion with Nadda.
Hyderabad: Newly appointed Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday held meetings in Delhi with the BJP leadership including party president J.P. Nadda. Sources indicated that the national leadership was briefed on internal differences in the Telangana and offered strategic guidance. He was instructed to focus on strengthening grassroots operations, particularly in rural areas and regions where the party has yet to make significant gains.
While the meetings were officially described as a courtesy call following Rao’s election as state president, they came at a critical juncture as the BJP stepped up preparations for the upcoming local body elections.
The party aims to build on its strong performance in the last Lok Sabha elections, where it won eight seats and secured nearly 37 per share of the vote share, pushing the BRS to third place. The BJP also recently won two out of three MLC seats in the state.
BJP Andhra Pradesh president P.V.N. Madhav and Telangana chief spokesperson N.V. Subhash also took part in the meetings.
