New Sainik School Proposed: Bandi
Bandi Sanjay called on Congress leaders to come together for the welfare of Telangana’s youth and to strengthen Centre–State cooperation in the education sector
Karimnagar: To boost defence career opportunities for rural youth, a proposal has been submitted to Union defence minister Rajnath Singh for the establishment of a Sainik School in either Sircilla town of Rajanna Sircilla district or Husnabad town of Siddipet district, both of which fall under the Karimnagar Parliament segment, said the Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar in a statement released on Thursday.
He called on Congress leaders to come together for the welfare of Telangana’s youth and to strengthen Centre–State cooperation in the education sector. “The previous BRS government did not cooperate with the Centre on developmental matters. At least the present Congress government must take more constructive measures in the interest of all sections of the state’s population,” he averred.
Bandi Sanjay said the proposal was submitted after observing a growing interest among local youth in joining the Armed Forces and the absence of adequate military preparatory education facilities in some districts. He noted that Sainik Schools play a vital role in shaping disciplined, motivated and service-minded young citizens who aspire to serve the nation with pride in the Indian Armed Forces.
The proposed school in either Sircilla or Husnabad would offer quality education and leadership training, while also fostering national integration and a spirit of patriotism among students in rural and semi-urban areas, he added. Following the representation, defence minister Rajnath Singh responded positively and advised the Telangana government to formally apply through the Sainik School Society’s website to initiate the procedural steps.
