NEET PG Counselling Deadlines Clash With AIQ Resignation Rules
T-Juda urges reopening of AIQ resignation window amid extended State reporting deadline
Hyderabad: NEET PG students from Telangana have sought urgent intervention from the authorities over conflicting counselling timelines under the All India Quota (AIQ) and the State quota, after the Phase-1 reporting deadline under the Competent Authority Quota was extended.
Students who approached the Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association (T-Juda) raised concerns over the AIQ resignation window and the scheduling of Telangana State counselling by the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS).
According to a notification issued by KNRUHS on December 17, the last date for reporting to allotted postgraduate medical colleges in Phase-1 counselling has been extended from 4 pm on December 18 to 4 pm on December 21, 2025. Medical college principals have been directed to upload candidate details on the university portal by 4.30 pm on December 21, failing which the allotments will be cancelled.
Meanwhile, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has kept the AIQ registration portal open until December 20, 2025. T-Juda welcomed the steps taken by both MCC and KNRUHS to address student concerns and streamline the counselling process.
However, a key issue remains unresolved. Several Telangana students who secured PG seats through AIQ Round 1 were unable to resign their seats during the resignation window, as the Telangana State seat matrix and counselling schedule had not been released at that time.
Students said the situation has caused significant stress and academic uncertainty. They have urged the MCC to immediately reopen the AIQ resignation window and called for better coordination between Central and State authorities to ensure that students are not disadvantaged due to procedural delays.
