Bomb Threat Triggers Alert at Nampally Court

After thorough inspection of the premises, the threat was declared to be a hoax

Hyderabad: Nampally Courts on Thursday received a bomb threat via mail stating that there were two powerful bombs planted in CBI Court and main building and would explode at 2 pm.
Nampally police, stationed at the court, immediately alerted their superior additional forces with Bomb Disposal (BD) teams and sniffer dogs rushed to the scene and evacuated the four-storied court building. After thorough inspection of the premises, the threat was declared to be a hoax.
Anonymous mail was directly sent to Nampally Court Metropolitan Session Judge (MSJ) following which panic gripped among the judiciary cops with immediate effect evacuated judges, court staff, lawyers and others.
“On receiving the information, we immediately rushed to the site and first evacuated everybody to a safe place out of the building. Our Bomb Disposal team along with sniffer dogs searched all the floors of the court building including the outer part,” SHO Nampally police station, K Narayana Reddy said.
However, the court in-charge as a precautionary measure, temporarily suspended all court proceedings till the premises were thoroughly checked, police said. “After a thorough inspection, from 10.30 am till 2.30 pm no explosives or suspicious objects were found the threat was subsequently declared a hoax following which normalcy was resumed in the court after security clearance,” he added.
The IT teams, Cybercrime teams along with the law and order police have initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the threatening email and identify those responsible.
