Nalgonda: V. Pusa Jagadish, bill collector of Bhadrachalam Gram Panchayat, was dismissed on Friday for falsifying online records tied to the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
A district panchayat officer order said Jagadish wrongly updated the profiles of 12 beneficiaries to show “basement level completed” even though construction had not begun, an act deemed gross negligence despite repeated instructions from the district administration.
The collector had been served a showcause memo on April 8; in his reply he cited “ignorance” and asked for leniency, calling it a first-time error. Authorities found the explanation unsatisfactory and terminated his services with immediate effect.
