Municipal Polls: 28,456 Nominations Filed for 2,996 Wards

Hyderabad:The process of filing nomination papers for the February 11 municipal and municipal corporations polls concluded on Friday. A total of 28,456 nominations were filed by aspirants of the Congress, BJP, BRS, CPM, CPI, MIM, AAP, and independents for the 2,996 wards on offer. These include rebels from many parties.

According to officials, scrutiny of nominations will be held on January 31 while appeals against rejection to be heard up to 5 pm on February 1. The appeals would be disposed of the next day. Withdrawal of candidatures will be allowed till February 3 and the returning officer would release the final list of contesting candidates.
