Hyderabad: Ch. Vijay Kumar, a Sub-Inspector of Police, and his driver Raju, an Armed-Reserve Police Constable of Mulugu police station at Siddipet Commissionerate were apprehended red-handed within the police station in a bribe case by Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Kumar demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.50,000 from the complainant through Raju as a reward for doing official favour in respect of the eviction process of a residential property pertaining to the complainant's elder sister and handing over the possession to her and helping the complainant in a cheating case.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs.50,000 was recovered from the possession of Raju, the ACB officials, adding that both Kumar and Raju performed their public duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. The details of the complainant are withheld for security reasons.
