MSME Personnel Trained in Steam System Optimisation at ni-msme
ni-msme programme focuses on cutting energy losses, fuel use and operating costs
Hyderabad: Boiler operators and maintenance personnel from MSMEs were trained to reduce energy losses, improve steam system performance and cut operating costs at a specialised programme organised by the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme) here on Friday.
The programme on steam system optimisation was organised by ni-msme’s School of Enterprise Development with support from GEF, MSME and UNIDO. Sessions covered boiler operations, steam distribution, fuel use, heat losses, equipment condition and maintenance requirements.
Resource persons told participants that regular monitoring and maintenance of boiler and steam systems could reduce energy losses and improve industrial operations. They also discussed how better use of fuel and energy resources could lower costs while supporting environmentally sustainable practices, a statement said. Technical sessions were combined with practical discussions, where participants raised problems they encounter at their workplaces and discussed possible solutions. Industry personnel also exchanged experiences on boiler operation and steam management.
