KARIMNAGAR: Congress Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamshi Krishna on Wednesday urged the Union government in the Lok Sabha to announce clear timelines for infrastructure projects worth nearly ₹4,210 crore in the Peddapalli Parliamentary Constituency.

Raising the matter during the winter session, he said expediting key works would help tackle rising unemployment in the region, including by speeding up the long-pending Peddapalli–Manuguru railway line and establishing a semiconductor manufacturing unit in the industry-rich district.

Highlighting the ₹4,000 crore railway line, a 137-km stretch intended to link Peddapalli with Manuguru in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, he noted that despite special project status and clearances for forest and land acquisition, no implementation schedule has been announced. The railway line is expected to boost freight movement, coal transport and employment generation.

The MP also sought timelines for other sanctioned projects, including the ₹130 crore Kundanpally Road Over Bridge, aimed at easing congestion at a major coal belt junction, and two Foot Over Bridges a ₹86 crore one between Karnala and Manthani and a ₹10 crore one between Mancherial and Hamaliwada.

Vamshi Krishna also appealed for Peddapalli to be included in the India Semiconductor Mission, arguing that the district’s industrial base and skilled workforce make it a strong candidate for a high-tech manufacturing facility.
