Mother, Daughter Murdered At Nalgonda Farm Over Land Row
The assailants allegedly threw red chilli powder into their eyes and strangled them with a dupatta, police said
Nalgonda: Unknown persons allegedly murdered a 40-year-old woman and her 20-year-old daughter at a mosambi farm in Ibrahimpet of Anumula mandal in Nalgonda over a land dispute, police said on Sunday.
The victims were identified as Rudraksha Sumalatha and her daughter Rudraksha Lavanya, natives of Ibrahimpet. Police said the attack took place around 9.30 am when they went to the farm on the village outskirts to pluck fruit.
The assailants allegedly threw red chilli powder into their eyes and strangled them with a dupatta, police said.
Miryalaguda deputy superintendent of police K. Rajashekar Raju said preliminary information suggested that the victims had a land dispute with close relatives. Police were yet to establish whether the relatives carried out the attack or hired others.
Sumalatha’s husband Yadaiah had died a few years ago. He had registered five acres in Lavanya’s name while he was alive. The Nalgonda CLUES team collected evidence from the scene. Police also used a dog squad during the search. Anumula police registered a case and began investigation.
