MLC Dayakar Appears In Court In Harish Rao Defamation Case
Court adjourns the hearing to November 26 over alleged remarks on occult rituals to prevent rainfall.
Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar appeared before the Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally on Thursday in connection with a criminal defamation case filed by BRS leader T. Harish Rao over alleged remarks about occult rituals being performed to prevent rainfall.
Harish Rao had filed the complaint against Dayakar and state Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud and submitted video clips and newspaper clippings of their remarks to the court. The court adjourned the hearing to November 26.
Speaking to the media after his appearance, Dayakar alleged that Harish Rao had filed a false case out of political vendetta. He said they were ready to face the allegations in court and questioned why Harish Rao had not filed a similar complaint against former BRS leader K. Kavitha, claiming that she had also used similar words.
