As part of the Miss World 2025 event being hosted in Hyderabad, contestants representing various countries from across the globe visited the iconic Charminar and explored Laad Bazaar which drew a lot of attention and excitement to the area.
Laad Bazar is famous for its traditional bangles, pearls and jewelry. It is a popular destination for unique Indian accessory. The contestants explored the market and interacted with local artisans. Live demonstration of bangle-making was also showcased. This led to an increased awareness and interest in Laad Bazaar, boosting tourism and economic activity.
They visited 9 handpicked shops in Laad Bazaar. The selected outlets included Hyderabad Bangles, Mujeeb Bangles, Kanhaiyalal, Motilal Karwa, Gokuldas Zariwala, K.R. Kasat, Jaju Pearls, A.H. Zariwala, and Afzal Miya Karchobwale. The local shopkeepers were delighted to be recognized and brought into the limelight amidst the Miss World event. The visit increased sales and generated new business opportunities for them.
Afzal Miya Karchobwale’s owner expressed his delight, saying, “It was a wonderful experience. They saw our ornament designs and really liked them.”
AH Zariwala’s owner added, “They visited our shop and spent around 25 minutes here. They bought a few sarees and some materials. They even mentioned that they would return after the 31st of this month.”
While the visit was brief for some, it still made an impact. “They didn’t have much time, as they arrived late and left early, but they made a purchase from our shop,” shared the owner of Mujeeb Bangles.
The shopkeepers also gifted them items to highlight Hyderabad’s warmth and hospitality. The visit by the Miss World contestants provided a unique platform to showcase Laad Bazaar and its unique offerings to a global audience.
