Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Monday registered a case against Shaik Javeed, Deputy Tahsildar, working on deputation in civil supplies department at Miryalguda in Nalgonda district for demanding a bribe of Rs.1lakh from a complainant
The case was booked under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act for initially demanding bribe amount of Rs.1 lakh from the complainant, and upon the complainant's request, he reduced the bribe amount to Rs.70,000 for doing an official favour.
The bribe was demanded to conduct panchanama report of three seized vehicles in order to get vehicle release orders from the Joint Collector Court. Javeed performed his duties improperly and dishonestly which constitutes an offence punishable under PC Act, ACB officials said.
They produced Javeed before the special court for ACB cases after which the court remanded him to judicial custody.
