Minor girl raped inside train toilet, accused films act
Family members lodged complaint after train reached Secunderabad station
Hyderabad: A Class 8 student was sexually assaulted in a washroom of a running Secunderabad-bound Raxaul Special Express between Itwari and Balharshah stations in Maharashtra. Co-passengers detained the accused and handed over to the railway police in Secunderabad.
According to a railway police officer, the heinous crime occurred aboard the train at around 2 am on April 3. As the victim went to a washroom to relieve herself, the 20-year-old accused forced himself inside and latched the door from the incide. He placed his mobile phone on the mirror board and recorded the heinous crime that he perpetrated on the victim.
The victim, who was reportedly bleeding, informed her parents and identified the accused. Her parents detained the accused with the help of other passengers and called the railway police to report the crime. When the train arrived at Secunderabad station, the accused was arrested, railway police said. The passengers also handed over the mobile phone of the accused to the railway police.
According to sources, the victim was in deep trauma. “Our women's team counselled her and she was sent to Gandhi Hospital for medical examination.”
Secunderabad Government Railway Police have booked a zero FIR after the doctors at Gandhi Hospital confirmed the assault, and have registered cases under the Pocso Act and various sections of IT Act against the accused.
For further investigation, the case has been transferred to Itwari, Maharashtra GRP police along with the accused's seized mobile phone. The accused after medical examination has been handed over to a GRP team from Itwari GRP for further investigation.
“A zero FIR has been booked and the case has been transferred to Maharashtra GRP for further investigation as per the jurisdiction, while the case is under investigation and will take action as per law,” SP-GRP Chandana Deepti, told Deccan Chronicle.
The victim along with her family were heading to Hyderabad for sightseeing. The victim’s family is well-educated and were planning to spend their vacation in Hyderabad, the police officer disclosed.
