Minister Seeks CM’s Photo on Central Schemes
He alleged that the BJP government’s attitude towards weaker sections had been exposed on several occasions and recalled Amit Shah’s remarks on Ambedkar in Parliament
KARIMNAGAR: Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar demanded that the Union government print Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s photograph on Central schemes, stating that Telangana contributes significantly to the Centre through GST.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Laxman Kumar alleged that despite the State paying substantial amounts in taxes to the Centre, Telangana was not receiving adequate funds, while large allocations were being made to Andhra Pradesh.
Reacting to the incident in Uttarakhand, Laxman Kumar criticised BJP and RSS activists for allegedly cleansing with Ganga water the venue where AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge had participated in a meeting.
He questioned the Union government’s silence over the incident and asked why action had not been taken against those responsible. He alleged that the BJP government’s attitude towards weaker sections had been exposed on several occasions and recalled Amit Shah’s remarks on Ambedkar in Parliament.
Laxman Kumar demanded the resignation of Union home minister Amit Shah and sought registration of a case under the SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against those responsible for the Uttarakhand incident. He also asked Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Nizamabad MP D. Arvind to respond.
He called upon Dalit leaders in the BJP to leave the party and said it should be taught a befitting lesson for what he described as its anti-Dalit stance.
Earlier, the minister participated in the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds in Karimnagar.
