Minister Ponguleti Releases Funds for Indiramma Houses
Srinivas Reddy released Rs 16.07 crore on Monday for 1,383 houses in which basement works were completed and for 224 houses in which walls were completed.
Hyderabad: Housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the construction of Indiramma houses was progressing steadily across the state despite facing financial constraints, He said that the state government continues to release funds for Indiramma houses every Monday, in line with the completion of construction stages.
Srinivas Reddy released Rs 16.07 crore on Monday for 1,383 houses in which basement works were completed and for 224 houses in which walls were completed. To date, a total of Rs 53.64 crore has been disbursed to 5,364 beneficiaries, with their houses having completed both basement and wall stages. The minister reviewed the progress of works during a Zoom meeting with officials.
The minister also highlighted the ongoing progress of the pilot project under the Indiramma housing scheme. So far, 47,335 houses have been approved under the initiative, with 20,104 homes in the construction phase. Of these, 5,140 houses have completed their basements, 300 have had walls erected and 10 houses have reached the slab stage.
Srinivas Reddy said that payments to beneficiaries are directly credited to their bank accounts in four distinct phases to avoid the involvement of middlemen. They will receive Rs 1 lakh after the completion of the basement, Rs 1.25 lakh after the walls are built, Rs 1.75 lakh once the slabs are installed and the final Rs 1 lakh after the house is fully constructed.
Srinivas Reddy also stressed the importance of completing the Indiramma houses in a timely manner, particularly given the approaching monsoon season. He instructed officials to take all necessary measures to ensure that the construction timeline remains on track.
