Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday nabbed Bandakindi Parushuramulu, an Engineering Consultant for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Siddipet when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs.11,500 from the complainant for doing an official favour

Parushuramulu, who was stationed at the office of MPDO in Maddur mandal in the district, demanded bribe for verifying and completing the check measurement of the complainant's MGNREGS files and forwarding them to higher authorities for sanction of the bill.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs.11,500 was recovered from the possession of Parushuramulu, the ACB officials said, adding that Parushuramulu acted improperly and dishonestly in the discharge of his duties to obtain undue advantage.

The ACB officials produced Parushuramulu before the special court for ACB cases after which the court remanded him to judicial custody.
