Warangal’s MGM Hospital, a major referral centre for lakhs of people across North Telangana, is facing complaints over inadequate basic patient amenities despite its extensive medical infrastructure. With more than 1,450 beds and over 1,800 outpatients visiting daily, patients and their attendants have raised concerns over the availability of basic facilities.

Recently, a video showing an attendant carrying a saline bottle by hand while accompanying a patient being shifted inside the hospital went viral on social media. The absence of a saline stand reportedly forced the attendant to hold the bottle throughout the journey. Patients’ attendants said saline bottles were sometimes hung from walls in certain areas.

The lack of adequate fans in some wards is another concern, with attendants reportedly bringing rechargeable fans from home. They also pointed to a shortage of beds, overcrowded wards and the need to arrange basic requirements themselves.

MGM Hospital has more than 1,450 beds, over 50 departments and round-the-clock emergency services. Against this backdrop, patients’ attendants have questioned the inadequate availability of basic facilities such as saline stands and fans.

They urged the hospital authorities to improve the basic infrastructure and ensure that patients, particularly those from poor families, receive essential amenities along with medical treatment.
